The US Government, through the NHTSA, has for many years sponsored an elaborate collection of staged vehicle crash tests. These include Frontal, Rear, Side, Rollover, Pole, Car to Barrier, Car to Car and Sled Tests. They are conducted for the FMVSS, NCAP, and Research purposes. NHTSA has recently placed the original crash test reports on CD in order to easily distribute it to researchers, accident reconstructionists, and other interested parties.
